Your Story,
Your Way
With ten years of publishing experience across fiction, nonfiction, academia, and technical writing, M—Dash Editorial can take your book from the idea in your head to a final manuscript.

About

Megan fell in love with reading and writing from a young age. She received a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in philosophy, eager to stay as close to books as possible. Having been in publishing for a decade, Megan has worn many hats in the industry: an assistant editor for academic books, a marketing manager for Trade books, and a Literary Agent at D4EO and Steven Literary. She worked closely to develop ancillary materials for textbooks and academic nonfiction as well as became versed in the marketing space for key publishing outlets like Publisher's Weekly and Shelf Awareness. As an agent, she championed a diverse list of authors and books. Her most notable sale is the award-winning Sir Callie series from Penguin Random House.
As someone who believes in giving back, she has previously mentored for the Pitch Wars class of 2018, the WriteHive 2019 and 2025 conference, SCBWI, and the RevPit 2020 contest.
Her specialties include middle grade fiction, young adult fiction, adult literary fiction and select nonfiction genres such as music, self-help, and psychology. With training in developmental and line editing, she is able to elevate any manuscript to its full potential, all while maintaining the integrity of the author's vision. When she’s not editing, she’s either drafting DnD campaigns, snuggling her dog, or crying over a good book.

Book Coaching
This service dives into a specific issue in a submission package or novel. Some concerns that align with book coaching are: deciding the right publishing path, understanding feedback from agents or critique partners, feeling stuck and not knowing how to proceed, building a revision plan, workshopping particular elements of a manuscript like nailing a character arc, improving pace, explaining a world-building concept, or sticking the landing of an inciting incident, climax, or conclusion.
How It Works:
-
In our initial email conversation, I will make sure that the concern you are describing is right for coaching instead of editorial services.
-
If deemed appropriate for coaching, I will then schedule a one-hour meeting via Zoom. Other platforms are available upon request.
-
Prior to our Zoom call, I will read up to 2000 words of material, whether it's a couple of pages, an outline, or a submission package.
-
During our call, we will discuss the issue you are having, brainstorm ideas to fix it, plan next steps, and schedule the next session as needed.
-
Resources will be provided during or after the session.
Fee: Each hour long session will be $150. Packages are available upon request.
